origami inspired lights

read

we proposed a series of custom wall lights for one of our projects.  the light designs were inspired by ‘origami’ japanese folding paper art.  we studied traditional origami shapes which were abstracted and simplified to produce 3 elegant shapes.  a triangle, rectangle and butterfly.

we approached a local firm melec lighting to produce a series of prototypes for us.  melec were impressed with the design and now manufacture them as part of their designer range of lights.

the light body is solid aluminium so they will not corrode in a coastal environment.  they contain high powered led lamps that use minimal energy and last for a long period of time.
